Varazze was known already in the days of the ancient Romans: the sea touched the hills and both sides of the cove would be bustling with shipbuilders. Over the centuries Varazze has preserved its vocation for shipbuilding, which makes it famous all over the world up to this very day.

Varazze is also a famous seaside resort and favourite winter destination that affords a mild climate all year round thanks to the gulf's unique conformation.

Marvellous walks by the sea, trips and excursions into the marvellous hinterland, entertainment and sports are a guarantee of a varied and pleasant stay. The beach of fine sand stretches for about 2 km.

It can be easily reached by car thanks to the efficient highways and by plane at nearby airport in Genoa. There is also a marina for the docking of sailboats and motorboats.
